VANTAGE
The brief was to design a workspace on the site of a former Victorian workhouse located on 60 Southern Grove, London.
These spaces are for the local residents of East London and should provide a better working environment for people that are unable to work fro home due to the 2020 global pandemic.
The concept of the proposed design follows influences of biophilic design which includes designing a structure inspired by nature with large floor to ceiling height windows to provide suitable lighting for workspaces and a connection to the outside environment.
What makes a good workspace?
Moving from traditional working environments to working in the comforts of our homes and in our local community spaces.
The recent 2020 pandemic has changed how we work and live which as a result has highlighted the importance of taking better care of our mental wellbeing.
Zig Zag Booklet
The zig zag booklet was a mini research project about our own workspaces and initial ideas to develop a concept for the major studio project.
Workspace Collages
As part of this project we looked into our own workspaces, making a series of collages to demonstrate how we work and the atmosphere created overtime in these spaces.

Orthographic Drawings
These drawings show the construction and space planning of one of the workspaces.
This workspace is divided into zones of individual and group working areas. The desk space are large so that multiple people can work in the same area and have office chairs that make it easy to adapt the space into different configurations.
